Guild Policies

We don’t make any rules that we can’t follow.  If you see a rule or guideline that you disagree with, does not make sense to you, or you think is not being followed, please discuss it with a guild officer!

General Guidelines

1.     We believe strongly that since we all pay to play this game, we should have fun.  Let’s try to keep this guild drama-free.  We are always open to feedback and concerns of all guild members, regardless of level or playing experience.  If you have feedback, questions or concerns, please talk to an officer so we can address your concerns rather than just venting in guild chat.

2.     We understand that real life takes precedence over WoW.  If you have work, school, or other obligations that affect your schedule, please let us know so we know you are not just being flaky and so we can still include you in guild activities.  You can post in the "Can't Make it to the Raid" thread in our Raid Forums or contact an officer in-game.

3.     Ventrilo is required for raiding, but we also encourage our social members to download it, get a microphone, and join us on vent!  We are generally on vent even when we are not raiding.  This allows us all get to know each other much better and makes our guild much more social.  (If you have questions or need help with Ventrilo, please ask a guild officer.)  Our guild vent server is now password-protected due to some recent vent-ninja activity.  Please don't give out our vent info unless it is someone you know well and play with regularly.  If you are not sure, check with an officer before giving it out.

4.    We want to keep this guild fairly active; therefore we will kick characters who have not been on for over a month.  This goes for alts as well.  If you know you will be gone for over a month and do not want to get kicked, please let an officer know so we can make a note of that.  If you are kicked for inactivity but you begin playing again regularly we are happy to invite you back without a probation period.

5.     Recruitment:  If you have a friend or group with someone who you think would be a good addition and wants to join our guild, please direct them to the "Apply to Join Lucid" menu option on our site.  They will find imporant information there about the guild and new members, as well as a link to the online application.  Please remind any friends you refer to mention your name in their application!

Standards of Conduct- Chat and Vent

1.  Treat each other with respect and consideration.

2.  No put-downs in guild chat, raid chat, vent or public channels.

3.  Please be mindful of how you represent yourself in trade chat and other public channels.  We reserve the right to kick you from the guild if we feel your behavior in public chat channels reflects poorly on the guild.

4.
Please keep conversations in guild chat and vent positive and appropriate. Be mindful about what you say (or how you say something) that others may find offensive. Please make an effort to avoid racial slurs and racist/sexist etc. comments; at best this may anger your fellow guildies; at worst you may be kicked from the guild.

5.  Please don't start discussions about politics or religion in guild chat; people tend to feel pretty strongly about those things and discussions can become heated.  Although we get along and are on the same page in-game, many of us have diverse backgrounds and experiences and will have very different opinions about these sensitive issues. Most of us are here to play a game and escape these "super srs" kind of topics, and the officers would prefer not to monitor guild chat discussions.

6.  Please do not bring your personal problems or drama into guild chat or vent- but if there is something going on that will affect your ability to be on, please let an officer know privately.

7.  If you have a problem, please be considerate of others and do not argue or hassle people on vent or in guild chat or public chat channels. You can whisper an officer or send an in-game mail if you have any questions or concerns or think there is something that needs their attention.

Special Note about Raiding While Intoxicated:

If we find out you are raiding high/drunk and it's not just LOL farm content, you will be kicked from raid regardless of how you're acting. 24 other people are there to do their best at raiding.  If you show up loaded, it tells us that being loaded is more important to you than raiding is, so we will oblige you by kicking you from the raid so you can enjoy your high.  If you decide raiding is more important to you, we are happy to have you there sober.

Recruitment Policy

We periodically open and close recruitment for the guild as a whole or for specific classes as we gain and lose members, and as our goals for the guild change.  Anyone is welcome to submit an application, whether recruitment is open or closed.  However, if we are not recruiting for a particular class, we may be somewhat less responsive to applications for that class unless they are applying as a social member only or are exceptional in some way.

Once someone's application to the guild has been accepted, they will be sent an invite in-game and will be put on trial status for 4 weeks. The new member's application on the guild website is used to start a "probation thread" in the member forums where other guild members can post about their thoughts and experiences with the trial members while they are still on their trial period. (Because this is in the member forums, new members do not have access to read their own threads; however, once they become a full member they will have access and will be able to comment on new trial members.)  Comments left in these threads are sometimes used in a general way to provide feedback to our trial members about how they are doing and how they seem to be fitting in to the guild.

During this time, the new member will have the same privileges as most members, with a few exceptions:

*Raid loot:  Trial members will have less priority than full members wanting an item for main spec, but more priority than a full member wanting an item for off-spec.

*Raid spots: Trial members will not be guaranteed a raid spot (no one is, except R3 members) but if they are ready to go and on time, they will be given invites as much as possible to allow them to demonstrate their ability. Trial members are expected to know and follow the raiding guidelines if they expect to be raiding with us.

*Guild bank: Trial members wanting an item from the guild bank will pay 75% of the going AH price.

*Alts and Friends:  Trial members' alts and friends who want to join as social members will not be invited to the guild until they have completed their trial period.

*Guild site:  New members will remain "Registered" users during their trial period.  When they are granted full member status, they will be bumped to "Member" status on the guild site and will then be able to view the Member Forums and any other Member-only content on the site.

Returning Members:

Lucid members who are kicked from the guild due to inactivity and want to come back when they are able to play regularly again do not go on probation when they return; they return with full member status.

Lucid members who leave the guild and go to another guild, then decide they want to return to Lucid will be on trial for two (2) weeks upon their return to Lucid.

Guild Bank

Items in the guild bank are available for guild members to purchase at 50-75% of going Auction House prices (this will depend on the item and the current going rate). If you don't know what the going rate is, you can ask in guild chat and usually someone in guild who runs the Auctioneer mod will autorespond.  The way it works is you type a question mark and then link the item you want to get a price for, like this: ? [item]  Usually someone will autorespond in a whisper to you.

Alternatively, you may trade for the item you want with another item or group of items of comparable value.

There are several reasons why we do it this way, rather than simply having guild members whisper an officer when they want something.

1.     It helps prevent favoritism and abuse- no one will take out certain items for free regularly to level their crafting professions, no one gives their friend items just because they can, and no one uses guild money for personal repairs.

2.     It creates a fair-trade system which helps keep a healthy amount of gold and useful items in the guild bank, rather than having a one-way system where only a few people put in money and items, and other people take money and items out.

3.     It encourages guild members to check the guild bank for items they may need, before going to the AH.  Likewise, it encourages guild members to consider donating or trading items they don’t need into the guild bank rather than putting them up for sale on the AH.

4.     Keeping money and resources in the guild bank allows us to make sure that there are always potions, elixirs, and other necessary items available for raids, and allows us to help out people who need crafting mats or enchanting mats to upgrade by offering a less expensive alternative to the AH.

What Items are in the Guild Bank?

We try to keep the guild bank organized by type of item.  Much of what is in the guild bank are high-level crafting materials that can be used by multiple professions and high-level enchanting materials that are needed for enchanting armor and weapons.

There is a section for high level crafting patterns; there is a section for item enhancements, there is a section for potions, elixirs, and flasks; and there is a section for food and food materials.

We encourage willing herbalists and alchemists to donate or trade herbalism mats  and potions, elixirs and flasks to the guild bank for raids, as purchasing mats off the AH can be expensive at times.  If this is something that you are interested in doing, the best way to do it is to mail the items in-game to Justizia or Noorb COD for "guild price" (50-75% of going AH price) with a note that you wish to sell them to the guild bank.

There is also a free exchange tab, which most members can withdraw from as well as deposit into.  Many people leave inexpensive but occasionally useful items here, such as food, glyphs, and items that grant rep when turned in.

Deposits into the Guild Bank.

Any guild member can deposit money or items into the guild bank.  If you are giving away an item and do not want anything in return, you can simply deposit it into the guild bank directly (please see section below, “What Items are in the Guild Bank?”).  If you want to trade for an item that is already in the guild bank, please contact a guild officer.  You and the officer will agree on what the trade will be, and if you are in close proximity the trade can be done as a normal person-to-person trade.  If you are not nearby, then once you have deposited your item(s) into the guild bank, the item you desire from the guild bank will be sent to you through the in-game mail system.

Withdrawals from the Guild Bank.

Only guild officers are able to remove items from the guild bank, although most members can withdraw items on the Free Trade tab.  If there is an item in the guild bank that you would like, ask in guild chat or whisper an officer (Noorb is the officer assigned to oversee the guild bank, so try him first)  to find out how much it costs or what you can trade for it.  You and the officer will agree on the cost or the trade, and if you are in close proximity the trade can be done as a normal person-to-person trade.  If you are not nearby, then once you have deposited your item(s) into the guild bank, the item you desire from the guild bank will be sent to you through the in-game mail system.  If, instead, you are paying for it with gold, then the item you desire from the guild bank will be sent to you COD for the agreed price through the in-game mail system.

Mats and Crafting Patterns from raids- If you want to purchase crafting patterns or mats (such as Crusader Orbs, Primordial Saronite, etc) from the guild bank, there are a couple conditions you must meet.  If you want a pattern, your skill level must be high enough to learn the pattern right away when you recieve it.  If you want mats to have a crafted item made, you must have all the other mats for your item already before requesting the orbs, etc.  This is to make sure that people who want to use these items are able to use and benefit from them right away, rather than trying to get dibs on them and then putting them in the bank for weeks while they collect the rest of their mats or finish leveling a profession.  Often the demand for crafting mats is higher than the supply, so we may have waiting list for them, as well.

The Guild Lottery

Periodically, we will be doing a guild lottery. We will notify the guild on the website and in the in-game Message of the Day about the deadline for entries. Gryss will collect entries for one week and then after entries are closed, a winner will be determined. There must be a minimum of five entries for the lottery; if not then Gryss will either extend the entry period to get more entries or return the gold to the people who did enter.

Entries

You receive an entry by sending Gryss 50g via the in-game mail system with a note saying that the gold is for your lottery entry. Each guild member is limited to 3 entries per lottery draw (you cannot do another 3 entries on your alt, it is 3 total).

Drawing

Once entries are closed, Gryss will do the lottery drawing at a pre-specified time.  You do not need to be online and present to win.  Gryss will do the drawing by listing each entrant's name in alphabetical order, and then however many people there are, he will do a random roll to determine the winner. For example, let's say 6 people enter and one person has two entries:

1. Adam
2. Evelyn
3. Evelyn
4. James
5. Larry
6. Quincy
7. Sam

He would /roll 1-7. The name corresponding to the winning number on the list would be the winner. So if the result of his /roll was 4, the winner would be James.

Winnings

The winner of the guild lottery receives 75% of what was put in to the lottery pool. The other 25% goes to guild bank funds. So, in the example above, with 7 entries @ 50g each, the total pool is 350g. The winnings would be 75% of that = 262g 50s. The remainder, 87g 50s, would go into the guild bank.  If you are the winner and you are not online at the time of the drawing, your winnings will be sent to you via in-game mail.  We will post the name of the winner for each lottery draw in the guild Message of the Day, as well.
